Born in 1957, Hua Thanh Binh belongs to the generation of artists who witnessed profound social and cultural transformations in Vietnam and who helped shape the country's contemporary artistic landscape. He studied at the Saigon College of Fine Arts in 1974 and graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 1978.
